The prosecutor submitted the case on individuals participating in the mass riots in front of the Government building to the court

On September 19, 2023, the participants of the assembly organized in the Republic square (Government house 1), city of Yerevan, at about 18:00 and about 21:00 of the same day after public claims by the organizers of the assembly, approached the entrance of the Government house and disobeying the lawful demands of the police officers started mass riots that threatened the public safety. Afterwards they started to use violence against the police officers hitting them with hands and legs, throwing different objects at them and uttering obscene expressions and profanities.

 

On February 26, 2024 the Prosecutor initiated a public criminal prosecution against L.S. under part 1 of article 327 of the Criminal Code and against N.A., J.Ts., H.A., M.H. under point 1 of part 2 of article 297 of the Criminal Code.

 

Ban on absence was applied as a measure of restraint against the defendants L.S., J.Ts., H.A. and M.H. and no measure of restraint was applied against the defendant N.A. under this proceedings. The latter is under the custody under another case.

 

On March 14, 2024 the part regarding the abovementioned individuals was separated from the criminal proceedings.

 

On March 26, 2024 the prosecutor signed the indictment regarding L.S., J.Ts., H.A., M.H. and N.A.  and submitted to the First Instance Criminal Court of General Jurisdiction of the city of Yerevan.  

 

 Notice:  A person charged with any crime shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code—by the judgment came into legal force.
