I consider alarming increase in suicide cases in Armenia in more than 60 percent. Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia emphasized this while presenting the report on the activities of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia in 2022 to the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, adding that the indicator was raised as a result of the summaries of 2022 activities, and systematic analysis of the cases of suicides are among the 2023 priorities of the Prosecutor's Office.

According to Anna Vardapetyan, the reasons are diverse and include both depressive emotions, which can be caused by individual and social phenomena, as well as gambling, including online games, which can have an impact on a person's mental behavior and psychology.

"I think there is a necessity for serious psychological work, not only at the individual level, but also at the institutional level, for example, the inclusion of such courses in educational programs that will make it possible to form a stress-resistant society. We live in informational "noise" and this "noise" simply "falls" on psychologically unprepared young people. I hope that in the next program we will come up with specific proposals to address the problem at the state level", - said the Prosecutor General of the Republic.
