About 14 land plots of historical and cultural value with a total area of approximately 1.3 ha, will be returned to the Byureghavan community: the state interests protection claim of the Prosecutor’s Office of Kotayk region granted

The Prosecutor’s Office of Kotayk region, within the framework of its authority of state (community) interests protection, filed a claim with the Anti-Corruption Court on June 20, 2025 against the Byureghavan community of Kotayk region and several private individuals. The claim demanded to declare anvalid 14 purchase and sale agreements for land plots concluded on August 10 and August 15, 2007, and to apply the legal consequences of such invalidity.

 

By the verdict of May 11, 2026, the Anti-Corruption Court granted the claim of the Prosecutor’s Office of Kotayk region. The court declared anvalid the purchase and sale agreements for 14 land plots with a total area of approximately 1.3 ha, which are classified under Article 60 of the Land Code as objects of historical and cultural value. As a consequence of invalidation, inter alia, the state registration of ownership rights over the land plots in the names of private individuals was also declared anvalid.

 

Once the verdict enters into legal force, approximately 1.3 ha comprising 14 land plots will be returned to the Byureghavan community of Kotayk region.
