Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan received Alessandro Ferranti, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to the Republic of Armenia

On 12 November 2025 Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General received Alessandro Ferranti, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to the Republic of Armenia.

 

Anna Vardapetyan welcomed the Ambassador at the Prosecutor’s Office and highly appreciated the cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries in a number of areas.

 

In this context, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia emphasized the importance of the outcomes of the working visit paid to the Republic of Italy on November 6 and 7, 2025 - the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on expanding cooperation between the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia and meetings with Piero Gaeta, the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Supreme Court of Cassation of the Republic of Italy, the Prosecutor General at the Supreme Court of Cassation of Italy, Maurizio Block, the Military Prosecutor General at the Supreme Court of Cassation of the Italian Republic, Giuseppe Mazzi, the President of the Italian Court of Military Appeals and Marco De Paolis, the Military Prosecutor General of the Court of Appeal, as well as Pietro Lafranco, the Vice President of the Italian Military Judicial Council and members of the Council.

 

It is worth mentioning that on June 30, 2023, Anna Vardapetyan, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, together with Luigi Salvato, the Prosecutor General of the Supreme Court of Cassation of the Republic of Italy, who had arrived in Armenia in the framework of the event marking the 105th anniversary of the establishment of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at expanding cooperation between the prosecutor's offices of the two countries in the field of criminal justice, ensuring the protection of human rights and freedoms, and strengthening the rule of law.

 

A range of issues of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
