On January 4, 2024 the prosecutor initiated a new public criminal prosecution on his own initiative against H.B. holding different military positions in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia from 1999 until 2017 (Commanding officer of 5^th army corps of the Ministry of Defense, Commanding officer of 2^nd army corps, Deputy chief of General Staff of the RA Armed forces, etc). 

The new public criminal prosecution was initiated under point 1 of part 3 of article 190 of the Criminal Code adopted on 18.04.2003  for money laundering in especially large amounts —AMD 251 million. In the scope of the criminal proceedings examined in the Anti-Corruption committee charges were brought against H.B. also for hiding data on the property and income in especially large amounts subject to declaration (5 counts).

 Notice:  A person charged with any crime shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code—by the judgment came into legal force.
