In October 2020, the Deputy Commander of Military Unit N of the Defense Army suspended the performance of military duties through deception

On October 3, 2020, Colonel M.B., the Deputy Commander of Military Unit N of the Defense Army, sought medical care at the Mehakavan Military Hospital in the village of Tog, Hadruut region with an injury to his right knee joint. Only swelling in the area of the right knee joint of M.B. was found, an external fixator was fixed to restrict the mobility of the knee joint.

 

M.B. was instructed by the superior command to continue performing his official duties. In order to terminate military service due to health condition, M.B. treated the swollen part of his right knee joint with iodine, resulting in second-degree burns.

 

On October 10, 2020, from 11:00 to 12:00, M.B. and his fellow soldier were in a vehicle, which was fired upon by the enemy. The driver was the only one who received shrapnel wounds as a result. M.B., who was found in the same vehicle and did not sustain any physical injuries, reported to the authorities as if he had been injured during the fire.

 

On October 10, 2020, M.B. was released from his position.

 

On September 27, 2023, public criminal prosecution was initiated against M.B., and on September 29, 2023, the prosecutor approved the indictment and submitted it to the First-Instance Court of Syunik Region.
