17 people tried to get a driver's license through bribery. The prosecutor submitted the case to the Court

On August 28, 2023, the Prosecutor approved the indictment regarding the attempt of acquiring a driver's license through bribery and submitted it to the Anti-Corruption Court with the files of proceedings.

 

The criminal proceedings examined by the Anti-Corruption Committee proved that in March-May 2023, 17 citizens of the Republic of Armenia, without passing the theoretical and practical exams, in order to obtain driver's licenses and add a new category to the driver's license, gave to the citizen G.G. AMD 70 thousand to AMD 300 thousand. G.G., not having an intention to give a bribe to any official, received AMD 5 million 931 thousand under the pretext of bribe mediation.

 

On June 14 and 16, 2023, the Prosecutor initiated public criminal prosecution against the above-mentioned 17 persons, in accordance with Article 44-436, Part 2, Clause 3 of the Criminal Code.

 

The public criminal prosecution against G.G. was initiated on June 24, 2023, under Article 440, Part 2 (25 counts), Article 46-44-436, Part 2, Clause 3 of the Criminal Code (25 counts) and by clauses 2 and 3 of part 2 of Article 46-44-436 (1 25 count). The Prosecutor approved the indictment on July 4, 2023 and submitted it to the court along with the criminal proceedings’ files.

 

Notice:  A person charged with any crime shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code—by the judgment came into legal force.
