Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General of the Reublic of Armenia met with Andrea Wiktorin, Head of the EU Deligation to Armenia.

The Prosecutor General thanked the ambassador for the support provided by the European Union with regard to the organization of high-level conference  on “Prosecutorial independence in upholding the rule of law”, organized in collaboration with the European Council.

In this context Anna Vardapetyan highlighted that organization of another conference in a similar format is envisaged in the near future. The Prosecutor General of the Republic expressed hope that partners from EU member states will participate in this initiative as well.

During the conversation with Ambassador, the Prosecutor General referred to the negotiations on the development and final settlement of the draft agreement “On judicial cooperation in criminal matters between the European Union Agency for Crimnal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust) and the competent authorities of the Republic of Armenia”. Anna Vardapetyan expressed hope, that the opportunity of cooperation with Eurojust will contribute to the  increase of the efficiency of transnational crimes’ investigation.

The Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia thanked Andrea Wiktorin (who is completing her mission is Armenia) for the exceptional contribution in the development of Armenia-EU relations as well as for compassionate work and expressed hope, that ambassador's rich work experience will have an essential impact on the further work of the Armenian team of EU office.
