Prosecutor General of the Republic welcomed the Ambassador of Georgia to Armenia

Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, welcomed the delegation led by Giorgi Sharvashidze, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia on 16 March. 

 

Anna Vardapetyan highly assessed the cooperation between the Prosecutor General’s offices of Armenia and Georgia, highlighting that there are no problematic issues in the scope of international legal interaction with Georgian partners. Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia emphasized that, “The high level of cooperation between the Prosecutor General’s Offices of both countries makes the solution of problems in the format of partnership possible”.

 

During the meeting they addressed the memorandum of understanding aimed at increasing efficiency of partnership between the Prosecutor General’s Offices of two countries signed between the Prosecutor’s Office of Armenia and Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia in April 2022. In this context the necessity of conducting discussions, forums, study visits and joint programs for prosecutors of both countries for the purpose of exchange of practical experience was highlighted. 

 

At the end of the meeting Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, informed the Ambassador that the Prosecutor’s Office of Armenia shall celebrate 105th anniversary of its foundation on 1 July 2023, and an invitation of that invent shall be sent to the Georgian partner Irakli Shotadze, Prosecutor General of Georgia, in the near future.

 

The Ambassador thanked Anna Vardapetyan for the greeting, attached importance to the implementation of programs aimed at the strengthening of close relations between the two Prosecutor Gerenal’s offices and invited the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia to visit Georgia.
