24.05.2023 | Citizens engaged in illegal gambling activities. The prosecutor sent the case to the Court

A number of cases in illegal gambling activities have been discovered in the Republic. The citizens organized and realized “Poker” live games.

 

On March 2, April 19, May 17 and 18 of 2023, the prosecutor submitted the indictment regarding 13 individuals to the Court.

 

Particularly, in the course of the preliminary investigation conducted in the Investigative Committee, it was discovered that from December 2020 to February 2021, S.P. and D. Sh. had organized “Poker” with live winnings. For that purpose, they had rented a private house and obtained agreements with state registered and licensed casino shufflers A.G. and A.B. They sold tokens equivalent to 1000, 5000 and 25 000 AMD to the players in order to bet. A.G. and A.B. charged 5 percent (in average 30.000-40.000 AMD per hour) in the form of game tokens in favor of S.P. and D.S. from each winning amount (the daily average duration of the games 5-6 hours).

 

As a result of the above-mentioned criminal actions, property damage in particularly large amount – 5 billion 500 million AMD was caused to the State.

 

According to the Prosecutor’s decision, dated 8 September 2022, public criminal prosecution was initiated against S.P. and D. Sh. under point 2, part 2, article 281 of the Criminal Code, against A.G and A.B. – under point 2, part 2, article 46-281 of the Criminal Code of the RA.

 

In the result of another criminal case it was found that in 2021, H.M. had rented small and large private rooms in a club on Sayat-Nova avenue, furnished with tables for card games, including live poker games. H.M. had been regularly renting a private house from P.P., in Kasakh community of Kotayk region and paid 4000 AMD per hour. There were tables for card games, cards, tokens. H.S. organized online games at the same address as well.  As a result, property damage of 11 billion AMD was caused to the State.

 

On 14 March 2023, public criminal prosecution was initiated against H.M. under point 2, part 2, article 281, against P.P. – under point 2, part 2, article 46-281, shufflers A.D. and A.P. – under point 2, part 2, article 46-281, and against H.S. ¬– under point 2, part 2, article 281.

 

In the result of another criminal case it was discovered that in 2021, H.K. had been regularly organizing and holding “Poker” live games without state registration and license, in the territory (of public significance) of the basement floor of the building, located at Vanadzor city, in a room of the restaurant located at the same city, as well as in the lounge of the computer games and entertainment club. As a result, property damage of 16 billion 500 million AMD was caused to the State.

 

In the course of the same proceedings, it was also found that A.K. aided H.K. in organizing and carrying out illegal entrepreneurial activities. As a result, property damage of 5 billion 500 million AMD was caused to the State.

 

Due to the decisions of the Prosecutor, dated 10 May 2023, public criminal prosecution was initiated against H.K. under point 1, part 3, article 188 of the Criminal Code of 18.04.2003, against A.K. – under point 1, part 3, article 38-188 of the same Criminal Code.

 

In the course of another proceeding conducted by the Investigative Committee, it was found that G.T., with the aid of shuffler M.M., organized a "Poker" game with live winnings without state registration and license in order to make a profit. G.T. organized live games “Poker” in his own apartment and private rooms rented in the café located at Mashtots avenue. As a result, property damage of 5 billion 500 million AMD was caused to the State.

 

Due to the decisions of the Prosecutor, dated 27 April 2023, public criminal prosecution was initiated against point 2, part 2, article 281, and against M.M. – under point 2, part 2, article 46-281.
