The Department for Combating Economic Crimes of the Prosecutor General’s Office has summarized the outcomes of the first nine months of 2022.
During the mentioned period of time the legality of 498 files on combating economic crimes was checked by the prosecutors of the Department.
During the first nine months of 2022 the prosecutors of the Department have supervised in total 1184 criminal cases, out of which 259 criminal proceedings were initiated from July 1, 2022, after the new Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia came into force.
The criminal cases initiated for economic crimes and investigated due to illegal and false entrepreneurial activity, deliberate bankruptcy and fictitious bankruptcy, non-payment the tax, fines or other mandatory payments and money laundering.
The damage caused to the state because of these files in the reported period is 32 632 799 337 AMD, out of which 18 293 707 319 AMD was recovered and entered into state budget.
The number of files refused, dismissed criminal cases and criminal proceedings is 12.
