Convictions were made in 2 criminal cases regarding cases of giving bribe by citizens to various officers of the RA Police Patrol Service.
In particular, in the scope of the criminal case investigated by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee, A. Kh. was charged under Article 312, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code.
The preliminary investigation proved that on January 26, 2022 he offered 20.000 AMD to the patrol for committing an illegal action in his favor, not submitting test, not drawing up a record of an administrative offense and not subjecting himself to administrative responsibility. At the same time, he was taken to the Arabkir Division of the RA Police on suspicion of bribing the police officer.
On February 15, 2022 in the RA General Prosecutor's Office, a decision was made to confirm the indictment and send it to the court.
In the result, the court issued a conviction against A. Kh., recognizing him guilty for committing a publicly dangerous act provided for in Article 312, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia and sentencing him to a fine of 150,000 AMD.
During the preliminary investigation of another criminal case G. N. was charged under part 1 of Article 312 of the RA Criminal Code on the ground of the examinations by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee. The investigation revealed that in on November 26, 2021, at around 12:40, the patrols of the 4th patrol battalion of the Yerevan of the RA Police Patrol Service, while performing their duty on Sebastia Street in Yerevan city, noticed the car driven by G. N. and signaled to stop driving. The driver drove the car without passing a technical inspection in accordance with the established procedure and without having a valid insurance contract signed for the given vehicle. When the patrols informed the driver about making records for the mentioned administrative offenses, G. Nazaryan put a 20.000 AMD banknote in the pocket of one of the patrol service officer as a bribe, suggesting not to draw up a protocol and not subject him to administrative responsibility, in order to show obvious illegal inactivity in his favor. G. Nazaryan was immediately taken to the Malatya Division of the RA Police.
On December 9, 2021 the RA Prosecutor General’s Office, made a decision on confirming the indictment and sending it to the court.
In the result, the court made a verdict, recognizing G. Nazaryan guilty for the commission of a publicly dangerous act provided for in Article 312, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code and was sentenced with a fine of 200.000 AMD.
5 more criminal cases examined by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee regarding cases of bribery of patrol service employees were sent to the court with indictments, and the court examinations are underway.
Another criminal case of the same nature is in the phase of preliminary investigation.
The General Prosecutor's Office of RA urges drivers to refrain from the criminal and bad phenomenon of bribing relevant police officers for not making a record of an administrative offense and not subjecting them to administrative responsibility.
All such manifestations will lead to inevitable criminal consequences, anybody committing such a criminal act will be subject to criminal liability.
