23.11.2021 | In the RA Prosecutor General's Office a specialized subdivision of supervision over the legality of pre-trial proceedings was formed in the RA Anti-Corruption Committee

By the decree of the RA Prosecutor General of 16.11.2021 in the RA Prosecutor General's Office was formed a department for supervision over the legality of pre-trial proceedings in the RA Anti-Corruption Committee, and the activity of the Department for supervision over the legality of pre-trial proceedings in the RA SIS of the RA Prosecutor General's Office was terminated.

 

The creation of a specialized subdivision was conditioned by the termination of the activity of the RA SIS and the establishment of the RA Anti-Corruption Committee.

 

The positions of prosecutors supervising the legality of pre-trial criminal proceedings, carried out by the anti-corruption committee under Art. 6 of the Law on Amendments to the RA Law on the Prosecutor's Office may be appointed people who have studied the integrity in the established legal order.

 

And according to the aforementioned decree of the RA Prosecutor General, the changes come into force, thus, the specified new subdivision begins to operate on the day of appointment of at least 5 prosecutors of the Department for Supervision over the Legality of Pre-trial Proceedings in the RA Anti-Corruption Committee.

 

By the decrees of the RA Prosecutor General of 22 November, 8 prosecutors of the department were appointed. Arsen Martirosyan, third class counselor of justice, was appointed head of the department, who was previously the head of the department for Supervision over the Legality of Pre-trial Proceedings in the RA SIS of the RA Prosecutor General's Office.

 

Prior to that, all candidates for the position of prosecutors of the mentioned department studied ethics in the manner prescribed by law. As a result, the conclusions of the RA Commission for the Prevention of Corruption were taken into account during appointments by the RA Prosecutor General.
