17.11.2021 | Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Armenia

The RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to our country Bahaa El Din Bahgat.

Welcoming the Ambassador to the RA Prosecutor General's Office, Artur Davtyan highly assessed the level of the Armenian-Egyptian relations in all fields, their friendly nature, stressing that, despite this, there is an unrealized potential for deepening cooperation between the two countries in the legal field.

He expressed the hope that the establishment of direct communication between the RA Prosecutor's Office and the EAR Embassy would contribute to increasing mutual interest in this direction, a possible reason for this is the presence of a sufficient legal basis. According to the RA Prosecutor General, the need for this is due to the recent increase in the volume of mutual visits of the citizens of Armenia and Egypt and the need to ensure a high level of legal protection in the two friendly countries.

Ambassador Bahaa El Din Bahgat thanked for the reception, conveyed the readiness of his country to expand legal relations, noting that they are ready to discuss proposals to enrich the Armenian-Egyptian multi-vector agenda in this direction.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the issues regarding the organization of the visit of the delegation headed by the RA Prosecutor General to the 9th session of the Convention against Corruption, the prospects for cooperation with the General Prosecutor's Office of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the legal framework to meet modern requirements for developing the skills of the prosecutors offices of the two countries.
