12.01.2021 | A trilateral meeting of the Prosecutors General of the Republic of Armenia, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Azerbaijan was held in Moscow

On 12 January, by the initiative of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, a trilateral meeting was held between the RA Prosecutor General A. Davtyan, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan K. Aliyev, and the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation I. Krasnov.

The purpose of the meeting was to establish further contacts in the field of international law, discuss the necessary conditions for this, as well as a number of current issues.

Within the framework of this, as a guarantee of the international legal cooperation, A. Davtyan raised the need to implement the 8th point of the trilateral declaration on the ceasefire signed on November 9, 2020 as soon as possible, to return Armenian prisoners of war and other detainees to Armenia as soon as possible. As well as the issue of guaranteeing their life and health, ensuring their other rights.

The RA Prosecutor General stressed that the return of prisoners of war and civilians will be an important guarantee for the fulfillment of the other agreements reached by the declaration and strengthening of peace in the region.

In this sense, A. Davtyan also raised the issue of protecting the region from international terrorism and jointly combating against it.

During the meeting, agreements were reached to continue the discussion of the above, as well as other legal issues.
