10.11.2020 | Criminal case was initiated in connection with the helicopter crush by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the territory of Armenia, which belonged to the RF Armed Forces

From July up to now, 2020, the military-political leadership of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in violation of trilateral agreement entered into force on May 12, 1994, the UN charter, Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War,  as well as requirements of other conventions and relevant norms of customary international humanitarian law, on the grounds of national hatred by using prohibited means and methods of warfare, endangering the lives of many, deliberately killing two or more people, and deliberately destroying property by means of an explosion continue to unleash an aggressive war against  Republic of Armenia.


Within that framework, on 09.11.2020 at around 18:30 the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan crushed a military helicopter МИ 24 of the RF Armed Forces flying over the village of Yeraskh, Ararat region of the Republic of Armenia.  As a result, two people were killed and one was injured.


On the same day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan officially confirmed the fact that the above-mentioned helicopter, which was on the balance of the RF Armed Forces, was damaged by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.


Concerning the fact by the Division for Supervision over the Investigation of Especially Important Cases against Military Service of the RA Central Military Prosecutor’s Office was initiated a criminal case under Points 1, 6, 13 of Part 2 of Art. 104, Part 2 of Art. 384 of the RA Criminal Code.


The preliminary investigation of the criminal case was entrusted to the RA IC.


Representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Southern District and Investigative Committee of the RF and representatives of the RA law enforcement bodies cooperating with them are taking all the necessary actions with a view to fully detect the circumstances of the case and resolve the issue of responsibility.
