29.10.2020 | Three people were charged for illegal transportation of weapons from the Republic of Artsakh to the Republic of Armenia. Motion was submitted to the court for detention

Number of circumstances of illegal transportation of weapons from the Republic of Artsakh to the Republic of Armenia were found.

 

In particular it turned out that a group of people with prior consent obtained and illegally hid in the car driven by H. M. 2 rifles “AK-103”, 77 bullets with a diameter of 7,62mm and a grenade F-1, which is an explosive device. On 26 of October 2020 at about 20:00 they were discovered and taken by the law enforcement bodies which were doing their duty along the road located from Verishen settlement of Goris Community to the Republic of Artsakh.

 

A criminal case was initiated on the mentioned fact at the Division of Goris of the RA Police according to Article 235, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code.

 

The owner and the passenger of the mentioned car were arrested on the instruction of the Prosecutor of Syunik Region, then on 29 of October 2020 they were charged under Article 235, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code. On the same day motions were submitted to the Court of General Jurisdiction of Syunik Region by the Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Syunik Region in order to apply detention as a preventive means against the accused.

 

The preliminary investigation of the criminal case is underway, all necessary measures are undertaken to find out all the circumstances of the case.

 

The RA Prosecutor’s Office warns to refrain from such criminal acts, which are considered to be threat for the population of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh as well as for social safety. The RA Prosecutor’s Office will continue giving the most stringent assessment to such actions and will prosecute the perpetrators of the crime.
