Davit Melkonyan, the RA Deputy Prosecutor General, third class state councillor of justice was dismissed from the office on the basis of his personal application and by the decree of the RA Prosecutor General in order to go to a new job at YSU, Faculty of Law and get actively engaged in scientific and pedagogical activities.
During the meeting of the Board of the RA Prosecutor’s Office held on August 24 the RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan thanked Mr. Melkonyan for his great input in the Prosecutor's Office during the past 6 years, for his faithful, dedicated, comprehensive and effective work, wished him success in his further work in the field of science and education which is also very important for the state.
The RA Prosecutor General informed that in order to exchange high professional qualities David Melkonyan will be appointed as a Chairman of the newly formed Scientific-Methodological Council of the RA Prosecutor's Office.
During the Board meeting, guided by Article 36, part 1 and 3 of the RA Law on the Prosecutor's Office, the RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan nominated the candidacy of Gevorg Baghdasaryan, Prosecutor of Yerevan City for the office of the RA Deputy Prosecutor General, which was unanimously approved by the members of the Board.
According to the order of the RA Prosecutor General of August 24, Gevorg Baghdasaryan was appointed the RA Deputy Prosecutor General.
Biography of Gevorg Baghdasaryan
Gevorg /father’s name: Suren/ Baghdasaryan was born on October 14, 1987 in Alaverdi, Lori region. In 2007 he graduated from Yerevan State University, Faculty of Law with a Bachelor's degree and in 2009 got his Master's degree.
On March 30, 2012 he defended his PhD thesis at YSU and got his Master’s Degree in Law.
From February 12, 2008 to October 8, 2008 he worked as a Junior Specialist in the Legal Expertise Service of the RA Court of Criminal Appeals.
From October 8, 2008 to March 15, 2013 - Advisor to the President of the RA Court of Criminal Appeals.
On March 15, 2013 he was appointed as a Prosecutor in the Prosecutor's Office of Shengavit Administrative District of Yerevan City, on November 1, 2013 - as a Prosecutor in the Prosecutor’s Office of Yerevan City.
From March 17, 2014 to May 8, 2014 he worked as a Senior Prosecutor of the Department of Charge Defense and Appeal of Judicial Acts of the RA General Prosecutor's Office, from May 8, 2014 to March 30, 2015 as Deputy Head of the same Department. From March 31 to October 12, 2016 he worked as the Deputy Prosecutor of Yerevan City.
By the decree of October 12, 2016 the RA Prosecutor General he was appointed as a Head of the Department for Charges Defense and Appeal of Judicial Acts of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia.
By the decree of July 11, 2018 of the RA Prosecutor General of was appointed Prosecutor of Yerevan city.
He is a First Class Counsellor of Justice, member of the Board of the RA Prosecutor's Office and the Qualification Committee adjunct to the RA Prosecutor General, member of the Management Board of the RA Academy of Justice, member of the Professional Council No. 001 of the Higher Qualification Committee.
He has been engaged in scientific and pedagogical activities since 2009.
Lecture at the French University of the Republic of Armenia, RA Academy of Justice and Yerevan State University.
Author of a monograph, 26 scientific articles, co-author of a scientific-practical manual.
By the Decree of June 29, 2017 of the RA President he was awarded “Mkhitar Gosh” Medal.
