14.05.2020 | During the first quarter of 2020 damage of 480 million AMD caused to the state was found by the RA Military Prosecutor's Office in the field of state interests protection in the Armed Forces

The Central Military Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia summed up the protection of state interests as implemented in the first quarter of 2020, as well as undertaken previously and the results completed during the first quarter of 2020․

 

During the mentioned period, 119 case studies were conducted by the State Interests Protection Division of the Central Military Prosecutor's Office and Garrison Military Prosecutor’s Offices of the Republic of Armenia, which is more with 41 or 52% than in the same period of the previous year.

 

Violations were found in 47 of the case studies, which were mainly recorded in the areas of military logistics enabling units, armaments, military and medical, capital construction and housing services.

 

Concrete prosecutorial measures have been undertaken to eliminate violations or provide a legal assessment. In particular, 37 warnings or about 4 times more warnings than in the same period in 2019 were given on the restoration of the damage caused to the state.

 

Besides, in order to eliminate the causes of the recorded violations and the favorable conditions, 14 reports and petitions were submitted to the state bodies, which is 75% more than the results of the same period in 2019.

 

Criminal cases have been filed with 24 materials out of 35 materials prepared in the result of the studies conducted on the issues of protection of state interests. In addition, the number of criminal cases is three times higher than in the same period last year.

 

According to the studies conducted during the first quarter of 2020, the damage caused to the state was 480.703.415 AMD; damage of 4.085.423 AMD was restored. Criminal cases have been initiated in the majority of unrecovered damages, as well in the scope of the given warnings, measures have already been taken to voluntarily compensate the damages caused by the relevant entities or to fulfill the obligations voluntarily, the results of which will be tangible in the near future.

 

It is worth of mentioning that in all cases related to the protection of state interests, the necessary prosecutorial measures and examination actions have been taken.

 

Measures are being undertaken to discover the most vulnerable fields in the protection of property and non-property interests of the state and to increase the effectiveness of studies in the following reporting timeframe.
