Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Artur Davtyan today has received a delegation led by the President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Croatia, the head of the Council of the Academy of Justice Duro Sessa. Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Croatia Hara Gordana Kharamina Khranilovich, Chairman of the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Croatia Andrea Posavets Franich have also been included in the delegation. Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, Chairman of the Council of the RA Academy of Justice Armen Harutyunyan and Rector of the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Sergey Arakelyan have also taken part in the meeting.
During the meeting, questions have been discussed regarding the retraining of representatives of the judicial and law enforcement systems, the expansion of cooperation between countries in the field of advanced training and effectiveness of the potential of the Academies of Justice.
Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, Artur Davtyan by emphasizing the importance of the delegation’s visit to Yerevan, has noted that within the framework of the ongoing judicial and legal reforms, amendments and additions to the criminal and criminal procedure codes are also envisaged. From the point of view of finding the best solutions, this circumstance is more relevant and it attaches importance to the intensive communication with the scientific and expert centers of the respective partner countries.
According to Artur Davtyan, Armenia and Croatia have significant similarities with system solutions, especially in terms of retraining prosecutors and investigators, combining the educational process, which also creates favorable conditions for expanding cooperation, making European experience more useful and applicable. The Prosecutor General has added that in accordance with the development of law, it is necessary to improve not only the preparatory and qualification programs and materials of criminal law experts, but also the methods and ways of transferring knowledge and skills.
The President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Croatia Duro Sessa has thanked for the reception and presented the institutional, structural and organizational features of the retraining of judges and prosecutors at the Academy of Justice of Croatia. He has emphasized the importance of combining social guarantees for judges and prosecutors, as well as developing common training programs aimed at their professional development. He has expressed hope that such visits will help strengthen relations between structures, facilitate the exchange of information between the academies of justice of the two countries, and will allow the implementation of a number of joint research projects.
The parties have also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
