11.04.2019 | The RA Law “On declaring amnesty in criminal cases on the occasion of the 2800th anniversary of the founding of Erebuni-Yerevan and the 100th anniversary of the independence of the First Republic of Armenia” has been applied to 4,601 persons.

By the order of the RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan, the divisions of the prosecutor's office  have carried out prosecutorial supervision over the legality of the process of applying the RA Law “On declaring amnesty in criminal cases on the occasion of the 2800th anniversary of the founding of Erebuni-Yerevan and the 100th anniversary of the independence of the First Republic of Armenia ”.

According to the data received and processed by the structural subdivisions of the RA Prosecutor's Office, as a result of applying the law on amnesty, decisions have been made with respect to a total of 4601 persons.

All decisions made as a result of incorrect application of law have been canceled with the use of prosecutorial measures.

Decisions regarding 889 persons have been taken in the framework of preliminary criminal proceedings. As a result of the application of the amnesty law, decisions regarding 1185 people have been  taken by the courts. 933 decisions on amnesty have been made by the heads of penitentiary institutions of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia. 1594 decisions on the application of the amnesty law have been made by the probation service units of the RA Ministry of Justice.
