04.04.2019 | As a result of the use of State property by other persons the State has been damaged in the amount of 226.5 million drams. A criminal case has been initiated.

As a result of a study conducted by the Department of State Interests Protection of the RA General Prosecutor's office  on the basis of the letter of the State Property Management Committee of the Republic of Armenia, it turned out that the officials of the Department of State Property Management of the Republic of Armenia have abused their official powers.

Officials of the State Property Management Department did not fulfill their obligations, namely, these persons for a long period of time did not carry out the delivery of state-owned real estate at Zaryan 22/1 and Zaryan 24 in Yerevan, with an area of 4.086.7 square meters. As a result, this property  has been used for their own purposes by private individuals. The minimum amount of renting this area would be 226.5 million drams.

On the fact of negligence and non-fulfillment of official obligations, as a result of which the State has been  damaged in especially large amounts, the senior prosecutor of the Department of State Interests Protection of the RA General Prosecutor's office  has  initiated a criminal case under p. 2 art.  308 of the RA Criminal Code.

The preliminary investigation of the criminal case is entrusted to the RA Investigative Committee.

Note: Every person suspected in or charged with a criminal offense shall be presumed innocent unless proved guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code and unless the verdict comes into legal force.
