25.03.2019 | The RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan has received the head of the CE General Directorate of Human Rights Christophe Poirel

The RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan has received  a delegation led by  the head of the CE General Directorate of Human Rights Christophe Poirel, which included the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Yerevan Natalia Voutova.

Issues related to the protection of a number of rights defined by the European Convention on Human Rights, as well as the process of fulfillment of commitments arising out of the decisions of the European Court on Armenian citizens have been  discussed during the meeting. Mr. Poirel has expressed hope that the criminal proceedings aimed at the introduction of new mechanisms of protection of the rights of persons involved in the criminal proceedings, as well as the development of new criminal codes of Armenia will be completed as soon as possible, highly appreciating the active role of the prosecutor's office in these processes. The RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan has mentioned in this regard that the RA Prosecutor's Office is interested in the adoption of two fundamental codes as soon as possible.

During the meeting, they also have discussed issues related to the protection of human rights in the RA Armed Forces and other issues.
