In the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and Artsakh Republic during 2018, 63 deaths of soldiers have been recorded, 27 of them urgent soldiers, 23 contract soldiers,2 warrant officers and 1 army officer.
Out of 63 soldiers 38 deaths have been related to military service, 25 of them have occurred in circumstances not related to military service.

11 as a result of suicide or causing to commit suicide.
2 as a result of violation of the rules of use of weapons,
3 as a result of illness,
1 as a result of mine blast,
1 as a result of murder,
3 as a result of accidents,
6 as a result of car accidents related to service
2 as a result of violation of the rules of military service,
2 as a result of violation of the flight rules or rules for their preparation.
25 deaths not related to military service
11 as a result of accidents not related to service
10 as a result of illness,
4 as a result of accidents,
56 deaths during 2017 related to military service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and the Artsakh Republic Defense Army have been recorded for the following reasons
23 as a result of killing by the enemy
10 as a result of suicide or causing to commit suicide.
4 as a result of violation of the rules of use of weapons,
4 as a result of illness,
4 as a result of mine blast,
3 as a result of murder,
4 as a result of accidents,
4 as a result of car accidents related to service
20 deaths not related to military service during 2017 have occurred for the following reasons
1 as a result of murder,
5 as a result of accidents not related to the service
12 as a result of illness,
2 as a result of accidents
It is noteworthy that in 2017 compared to 2018 the number of deaths because of enemy shots as a result of the ceasefire violation has decreased more than three times.
