14.12.2018 | During the early elections to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia out of 442 cases of alleged electoral offenses, 6 criminal cases have been initiated

By order of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, a working group has been established at the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia has  reviewed and summarized on December 14 a total of 442 cases of alleged electoral violations received by law enforcement officers during the preparation and conduct of early elections.


Information about 190 cases has been obtained as a result of monitoring of the publication of mass media and the recording of citizens in social networks, carried out within the framework of the working group of the RA Prosecutor General’s Office.


From 442 cases in 271 with abstract and general data verification activities has been carried out or are being carried  out.


As a result, in 161 cases, the facts of the alleged crime have been denied.


In accordance with Art. 180-181 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia materials are being prepared to verify the legality and the grounds for initiating a criminal case.


In 12 out of the 165 cases mentioned, a decision has been  made to refuse to initiate a criminal case, on 147 the preparation of materials is in  process.


According to 6 prepared materials criminal cases have been  initiated.


The preliminary investigation of 4 criminal cases is carried out by the  investigators of the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia and of 2  by the investigators of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
