25.09.2018 | In Lori Region 3.5 times more people have been prosecuted for committing corruption crimes in the first eight months of 2018 than in the previous year

Within the framework of the criminal-legal fight against corruption, the Prosecutor's Office of Lori Region of Armenia continues to study the results of the disclosure of such crimes, the results of the investigations of criminal cases initiated concerning that cases and the circumstances affecting them.


Ongoing research shows that based on 55 materials out of 71 materials prepared on the basis of reports concerning corruption cases, criminal cases have been initiated in the first eight months of 2018.


During the reporting period 12 out of 20 criminal cases concerning corruption cases investigated under the supervision or procedural lead of prosecutors of the prosecutor's office of the region have been sent to the court (last year - 4 cases against 7 persons).


In the eight months of 2018, the damage caused by the completed materials and criminal cases has amounted to 752 million AMD, from which 98.5 million AMD has been restored (20.8 million AMD for legal entities and 77.6 million AMD for state property).We should note that the amount of the theft within the framework of only one criminal case is about 587 million AMD at present stage, from which so far 27.515.500 AMD has been restored. For the rest of the amount, decision has been made by the body conducting preliminary investigation to seize the accused's property.
