18.07.2018 | Through fraud and official negligence as a result of non-payment of administrative fines, the State has been damaged in the amount of 1.38 billion drams. The 7th criminal case has been initiated

As a result of a thorough and large-scale study conducted by the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia, it turned out that in 2016-2017 a number of vehicle owners, including taxi service provider companies, allegedly paid administrative fines to prove that the violations have been committed by persons who did not own property or income.

Taking into account the fact that these actions contain flagrant signs of crime by the decision of the senior prosecutor of the RA General Prosecutor's Office in accordance with p. 1 p. 2 art. 184 and p. 2 art.  315 of the RA Criminal Code a criminal case has been initiated. The preliminary investigation has been entrusted to the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia.

As a result of several months of research, on the facts of using criminal mechanisms for non-payment of administrative fines for violation of traffic rules, 7 criminal cases have been initiated in the RA Prosecutor General's Office. The damage caused to the State has already reached 1.380. 000. 000 drams.

Studies aimed at identifying violations of state interests are continuing.

Taking into account the volume of criminal cases, a large number of subjects involved in it, the need for large-scale investigative and procedural actions in accordance with the investigation plan, RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan has established an investigation group  with the involvement of investigators of the RA Investigative Committee.
