03.02.2018 | A citizen who tried to vote more than once has been sentenced to two years of imprisonment. The Court of Appeal approved the complaint of the prosecutor's office

On 02.04.2017 a criminal case has been initiated under art. 34-153 of the RA Criminal Code on the fact of attempt to  vote more than once at polling station of  Yerevan city No. 2/19.


Within the criminal case initiated on 03.04.2017 as a measure of restraint against Hovhannes Ghazaryan a written undertaking not to leave the place has been chosen, on 04.05.2017  he has been brought in as a defendant for the commission of a criminal act under Art. 34-153 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.


On April 7, 2017 the prosecutor's office of Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts with a confirmed indictment has sent the criminal case to the first instance court of the Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts.


The accused Hovhannes Ghazaryan has been sentenced to two years imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold a position in state or local self-government bodies, as well as a member of the election commission, trustee or observer for a period of two years.
