08.06.2017 | Separated criminal case against 18 accused who had seized the Patrol and Guard Service Regiment premises of the RA Police, along with the bill of indictment were sent to Court

By the factual data that have been gained during the preliminary investigation of the criminal case that is being investigated under a separate proceedings in the SIS of the RA the following has been justified: Varuzhan Avetisyan, Pavel Manukyan, Armen Lambaryan, Arayik Khandoyan, Mkhitar Avetisyan and the rest organized a criminal armed group which also included Aram Manukyan, Hovhannes Harutyunyan, Tatul Tamrazyan, Aram Hakobyan, Artur Melkonyan, Tigran Sargsyan, Tigran Manukyan, Arayik Hakobyan, Artur SOghominyan, Garnik Hovakimyan, Hovhannes Vardanyan, Vardan Geravetyan, Martiros Hakobyan, Sergey Kyureghyan, Gevork Iritsyan, Toros Torosyan and others, occupied the buildings, facilities, means of transportation of Patrol and Guard Service Regiment premises of the RA Police by carrying weapons, ammunition and explosives. The members of the organized group studied the territory and collected data about the GSR premises beforehand, illegally procured weapons, ammunition, explosives, particularly 14 guns, bullets, projectiles and other explosives. Their aim was to release Zhirayr Sefilyan, Coordinator of the Founding Parliament.

On 17.07.2016 at about 5 a.m. the members of the organized group attacked the administrative buildings of GSR premises of the RA Police of the City of Yerevan by lorry <>, broke the gates of the above-mentioned building by hitting with the lorry, with help of illegally kept armor occupied the building, took hostage of the staff who were carrying out their duties, afterwards, they seized 217 pistols, 10 guns, bullets and other ammunition. 

During the day of attacking as well as on the following days, the members of the organized group were shooting which resulted in the injury of a number of police-officers. Besides these activities, they also seized 14.808.000 AMD by breaking the ATM and taking the money.

By the evidence that had been collected the above mentioned members of the organized group were charged under Article 219 part 3 point 1, Article 218 p. 3 p. 1, Article 235 p. 3, Article 238 p. 4 pp. 1 and 2, Article 185 p. 3 p. 1, Article 177 p. 3 p. 1, Article 35-219 p. 3 p. 1, Article 35-218 p. 3 p. 1, Article 35-235 p. 3, Article 268 p. 1, Article 235 p. 4, Article 365 p. 1, Article 238 p. 2 p. 2, Article 34-219 p. 3 p. 1, Article 34-218 p. 3 p. 1, Article 34-235 p. 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (Occupation of buildings, facilities, means of transportation or communication; Taking hostages; Illegal procurement, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices; Theft or extortion of weapons, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices; Willful destruction or spoilage of property; Theft;  Violation of combat duty regulations).     

 

By the decision of the body conducting the preliminary investigation of the criminal case against 18 accused, the case alongside with the bill of indictment has been confirmed by the prosecutor carrying out the supervision over legality of the inquiry and preliminary investigation, sent to the Court of General Jurisdiction of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of the Yerevan City.
