As a result of investigation and operative prosecution activities conducted within the framework of the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding instituted on the basis of the Article 225 Parts 1 and 2 of the RA Criminal Code by the General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee, on the fact of organization of mass disorders in Yerevan District “Sari Tagh” on 29 July, 2016 at about 22:30 and participation in them, evidence has been obtained that on the same day, before the procession of the citizens from the Freedom Square, riots were planned in advance in the Sari Tagh district and preparation for causing them were made with the aim of breaking through the police cordon and bringing the participants of the riot to the territory of the captured PSS regiment and supporting the individuals, who captured the regiment on 17 July, 2016.
The RA Prosecutor General’s Office requested the criminal case from the General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee and sent it to the RA Special Investigative Service with the intent to combine it with the criminal case, instituted on the fact of capturing the PSS regiment as well as keeping hostages and to conduct a joint investigation.
