The property exceeding AMD 2 billion shall be transferred to the Republic of Armenia: The Prosecutor General’s Office concluded another reconciliation agreement

On February 21, 2024, in the scope of the function of confiscation of property of illicit origin, the Prosecutor General’s Office concluded a reconciliation agreement with the citizen of the Republic of Armenia Galust Grigoryan (father’s name: Lukash).

 

On October 9, 2020 an examination started in the Department of Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin of the Prosecutor General’s Office regarding the property belonging to Galust Grigoryan.

 

As a result of the examination, on March 25, 2022 a statement of claim was submitted to the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of the city of Yerevan on confiscation of property of illicit origin, which was afterwards transferred to the Anti-corruption committee.

 

Galust Grigoryan submitted a proposal to the Prosecutor General’s Office through his representative on completing the examination of the claim by a reconciliation agreement. 

 

Based on the abovementioned proposal, on February 21, 2024 a reconciliation agreement was concluded between the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Representative of the Defendant, according whereof the land plot with the surface of 16.013 m2 , with the market value of AMD 2 billion 18 million 400 thousand, constituting 76,93% of the price of the statement of claim located at Acharyan Str, Avan administrative district, city of Yerevan,  was transferred to the ownership of the Republic of Armenia.

 

On February 22, 2024, the signed reconciliation agreement was submitted to the Anti-corruption committee, for approving in the order provided for by the law.

 

In the order envisaged by the Civil Procedure Code the reconciliation agreement shall be approved by the court within one months.
