02.08.2019 | As a result of the work carried out by the RA Military Prosecutor’s Office in the protection of state interests the damage inflicted to the state in the amount of about 9.7 billion AMD has been revealed

The RA Military Prosecutor's Office has summed up the results of the work carried out within its competence in the field of interests protection for the first half of 2019.

Accordingly, during the indicated period, the Department of State Interests Protection of the Central Military Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia and the Prosecutor's Offices of the Military Garrisons have carried out 188 studies, which exceeds the results of the same period of the previous year by 20 times. Violations  have been revealed by the studies of 102 cases, and with a view to eliminate them or to give a legal assessment, specific appropriate measures of prosecutorial influence have been taken. In particular, according to the results of studies conducted concerning the state interests protection, 20 criminal cases have been initiated.

Significant results have been found out especially in the field of identifying and restoring damage caused to the state in the armed forces, with the use of prosecutorial tools. In particular, the amount of damage caused to the state has amounted to 9 billion 752 million AMD. For comparison, we note that in 2018 the amount of damage revealed in the armed forces within the prosecutor's functions to protect state interests has amounted to 264 million AMD, that is, about 37 times less than the results of this year.

In the first half of 2019 the damage caused to the state in the amount of 321.4 million AMD has been restored, and this is in the case when the recovery rate for the same period of 2018 has amounted to 60.8 million AMD or less by 5.2 times.

It is worth mentioning that during this year almost all damage restoration has been carried out in the result of 12 warnings on voluntary compensation for damage caused to the state interests based on Part 3 of Article 29 of the RA Law “On the Prosecutor's Office”, and there has been no need to apply other measures of prosecutorial influence. Concerning the predominant part of not restored damage caused to the state, criminal cases have been initiated, a preliminary investigation is underway.

The necessary measures of prosecutorial influence and control actions concerning all cases on the state interests protection.
