31.05.2019 | Criminal case revealed on the fact of corruption in the Museum of Local Lore of Lori-Pambak has been sent to court with an indictment

The preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated by the Prosecutor's Office of Lori Region on the fact of  embezzlement of a large amount of money by the staff of the SNCO "The Museum of Local Lore of Lori-Pambak" has been  completed.

The Director of  SNCO "The Museum of Local Lore of Lori-Pambak" N. A.  recruited a manager, technical worker, fund assistant his mother and five other people, who  from 2012 to 2018  did not attend work and did not fulfill their official duties. Knowing this, the director of the museum each month has presented a false report containing information about the attendance of these people and the actual hours worked.

He has submitted fake documents to the Lori regional administration, as a result of which the salary and bonuses have been unreasonably paid in the amount of 7,789,741 drams. N.A. has been charged in accordance with p. 1 p.  3 art. 179, p.  1 art. 314 and p. 1.1.p.  2 art. 178 of  the RA Criminal Code. A written undertaking not to leave has been chosen as a preventive measure. In the course of the pre-trial proceedings, the director fully restored the damage caused to the state organization, more than 8 million drams.

On May 31, 2019, the investigator of the Investigative Regional Department of Lori of the RA Investigative Committee, who investigated the above-mentioned  criminal case, received an indictment on  the criminal case, which was confirmed by the prosecutor supervising the legality of the preliminary investigation and sent to the first instance court of general jurisdiction of Lori region.

Note: Every person suspected in or charged with a criminal offense shall be presumed innocent unless proved guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code and unless the verdict comes into legal force.
