The working visit of the RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan to the Russian Federation continues.

On November 29, the Prosecutor General of Armenia took part in the 27th meeting of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS member states, during which an exchange of experience was conducted between the prosecutors' offices of the participating countries on combating illicit trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances, combating torture, protecting cultural heritage and the values of legality, protecting the rights of citizens and other areas. The course of implementation of the Council's work plan for 2016 was discussed, approved plans for 2017-2019 on combating extremism, accompanied by acts of terrorism and other forms of violence, and also for 2017-2020 the fight against crimes committed using information technology. Separately, the question has been raised connected with difficulties regarding the prosecution of criminal cases during the trial. The Prosecutor General of the Republic Armenia noted that most of these problems are mainly conditioned by the fact that in most of the participating countries the domestic legislation in the field of international mutual assistance in criminal matters does not fully comply with international agreements. He offered to take immediate actions in this regard, considering the role of  the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General of Member-states of the Commonwealth of Independent States as a main one, especially from the point of view of providing the necessary methodological and information support.
